e.l.f. Haul

1. Studio Complexion Perfection Pallet (#3.00): Meh
I don’t know how well this is working for me. I’m not particularly impressed, it’s fairly chalky, so I need to be careful when applying it. I’m not in love, but it’s not a horrible product.

2. Studio Blush in Tickled Pink ($3.00): Good enough
Like the Complexion Perfection pallet, the blush is very powdery. It takes a lot of blush for the color to show, but for three dollars, it does the trick. All powder blushes fade after time, so I don’t mind reapplying. My Sephora blush goes much farther with less, but this was only three bucks, so… I would’ve liked a lighter pink, though.

3. Super Glossy Lip Shine in Strawberry and Pink Pop ($1.00): Pretty Good
This stuff is pretty great. The color isn’t as apparent as I would like, but this stuff stays, smells delicious, and tastes pretty damn good. Wonderful stuff for a dollar, and it helps my prettier glosses stay on longer. The SPF is nice, too.

4. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Midnight and Gunmetal ($3.00): Great
This stuff is really great. I have to put on a layer or two or three on before I’m satisfied, but this stuff has a really great texture. I was actually hoping the Midnight shade would be a touch more blue, but it’s still nice, and the Gunmetal is really great. It’s easily smudged at first, but once it dries it stays on fairly well even in Hawaii humidity. I also like that it flakes and doesn’t smudge after drying, so touch-ups are easier and there’s no melting. The one thing I didn’t like was that the angled brush these come with sucked.

5. Shimmering Facial Whip in Toasted ($1.00): Good Enough
I did prefer the Benefit highlight, and when I put this on with my fingers it seems like all the shimmer is on my hands and none of it on my face. However, I do have a brush I use to apply eyeshadow primer, and I’ve found I can better apply this as a highlight using that. For a dollar, I’d buy this again. It works well on my lips too (it’s tasteless), and I’m sure it’d be a good shimmer on my eyes—maybe for an everyday look.

6. Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush ($3.00): Great
I’ve come to like this brush. It picks up product well, it applies smoothly. I’ve never used another brush like this, so I can make no comparisons, but I do like this. It’s much easier to use than a straight eyeliner brush, or an angled brush, and it’s easy to wing out the eyeliner with it.

7. Studio Contour Brush ($3.00): Great
My last fluffy brush I used worked wonders (it was from Paul Brown), but it was scratchy and hurt sometimes to use. I’ve only had a chance to use this once, but it really did the trick, and no scratchy bristles at all.

8. Studio Powder Brush ($3.00): Great
The reviews online all said the same thing about this brush, “This is the softest brush I’ve ever felt in my life.” And at first I thought it was just an exaggeration, but now that I have one I know, this really is the softest brush I’ve ever felt in my life. If I’m not careful, it does fling powder about a bit, but if I use it more in a dabbing rather than a swirling motion, it goes on evenly and I end up using less than when I use a sponge. I’m very happy with this brush, and it might be my favorite purchase.

ELF HAUL
So I’ve been hearing a lot about elf products recently, so while they were having a free shipping promotion I went online and bought twelve different products. Unfortunately they were out of the cream eyeshadow I picked, but I got everything else. Shipping took 12-15 days, which would’ve been an issue if I hadn’t gone on a two week trip right after ordering, but it was free so I suppose there’s no complaints there.
Starting  at the top from left to right, I got the “Complexion Perfection” pallet, “Tickled Pink” blush, “Strawberry” and “Pink Pop” Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15, “Midnight” and “Gunmetal” cream eyeliner, “Toasted” Shimmering Facial Whip highlight, natural lashes kit in black (not pictured), and the angled eyeliner, contour, and powder Studio brushes. I did a lot of research before purchasing these products so I was hoping to have no real misses, and I didn’t. So here’s a fairly positive review.

Makeup~

I need to start following more makeup blogs. Somehow, I’m finding myself a little obsessed… It’s just so much fun to put on—Everybody needs a hobby, right? But why is everything so expensive?

I think I’ll also be trying to make my Tumblr a little more… Bloggy again. So much reblogging…
